Electro club night
Blow Up had an enviable problem: the night helmed by
Jeffrey Paradise and
Richie Panic attracted such a large following it outgrew its regular home at Rickshaw Stop. As Paradise
told us back in February, he didn't just want to drop the night into any old venue: it had to be the perfect mix of divey and classy, with security as friendly to the patrons as Rickshaw's.
The promoter has yet to find that club sweet spot--even though the mayor's office(!) chimed in offering its support, meeting with Paradise and company to try and find options for his night--but for his birthday he's throwing a
Blow Up "reunion" at
Kelly's Mission Rock on Saturday, April 10. For this special event, Paradise, Panic, and Blow Up co-promoter
Ava Berlin are bringing up
Dan Sena from Southern California to help out on DJ duties.
As of this morning, there were close to 700 people RSVPed through Facebook for next weekend's party--showing that Blow Up may be temporarily gone, but it's definitely not forgotten.
