Weekend Party Preview: Flying Lotus, Dancing Ghosts

megla small weekend.jpg

This weekend's hand-picked soirees offer no running theme between them. Your four Weekend Party Preview options are completely disparate and wonderfully eclectic in their own rights. We'd like to think that such a mixed up spread should please even the most alienated and discerning party-goer San Francisco can throw our way.

Friday, March 26
What: Psychedelic Radio w/ Kial, Megalodon, Zapruderpedro, and more
Where: Club Six
When: 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Why: Party-starting promotion teams Hellefante and Hit 'N Run bring you this special night of dubstep, reggae, and electro jams. The elusive DJs lurking behind the decks for this shadowy affair come courtesy of SF's Double Drop Recordings, among other locally-based music collectives. Between the crunchy tunes from Megalodon, Kial, and Zapruderpedro there will be enough slow-grooving beats and wobbling bass to turn any skeptic into a serious dub-head. Plus, it's totally free before 11 p.m. if you RSVP.

What: Teenage Dance Craze w/ Russel Quan, Sergio Iglesias, and Mr. DXXX
Where: The Knockout
When: 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Why: Sometimes it's nice to go to a bar where doing the twist doesn't look completely ridiculous. The Teenage Dance Craze party is just the spot, and this Friday at The Knockout is your chance to go act like a fool to some oldies music. DJs Russel Quan, Sergio Iglesias, and Mr. DXXX will be providing the 45s of surf, garage rock, R&B, rockabilly, classic Beatles, and all other tunes twist-able for this revitalized sock hop.
