Local metal gods High on Fire released a bad-ass little video for their single "Frost Hammer" today. The clip involves snakes and swords, lava and lightning, Jesus and the Devil, and a shirtless Matt Pike, the frontman with a growl to level lesser shredders. Or, more succinctly, in the words of the band, this video tells the story "of a warrior's sojourn to the cold and barren Plateau of Leng where he secures the fabled Frost Hammer that will be used to enact the final rites and complete the dark rebirth and reign of the Frost Child." There you have it.
The single comes off the band's fifth album, Snakes for the Divine (read more about that record here). If you want to hear any of these songs live, though, you'll have to wait in line. The band is currently in a long US tour that doesn't return home until May 8, when High on Fire rocks the Fox Theater.
