Animal Collective Movie Gets Special SF Screening This Month

Categories: Music, Video

Animal Collective fans who enjoy getting their minds shaken and stirred by a surreal, rapid-fire succession of bright colors and otherworldly creatures should check out the group's collaborative art film with director Danny Perez. ODDSAC stars members of Animal Collective and was created to be an "immersive" experience, as the above clip strongly suggests. It's also being touted as a "visual album," a multi-media effort with a specific soundtrack recorded to go with Perez's dense images.

ODDSAC will be released on DVD for home viewing in June, but experiencing the film on the giant screen--with Perez and members of Animal Collective in attendance--sounds like a lot more fun. The screenings are only in six cities right now, and San Francisco is lucky to be one of those stops. ODDSAC plays here on Thursday, March 25, at the Kabuki at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. More info here.
