Things seem slightly quieter than usual around town. Maybe it's because people are gearing up for Noise Pop's impending craziness, or perhaps San Francisco just partied a little too hard over the Valetine's Day weekend. Regardless, we're still here in full force with a host of events to keep you from sitting at home with your Xbox. You really don't need to beat that game tonight, especially with these parties involving DJs on acid, booty-bass birthdays, and art-studios-cum-music-venues.

What: The Leak w/ SamFM, Pony P, Kirin Rider, and more
Where: Showdown
When: 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Why: That seedy little bar over near 6th & Market has undergone a number of transformations over the years, but none have proved so surprisingly nice compared to the old dive decor. A team of DJs, headed up by SamFM, Pony P, and Philly Ocean, are taking over the Showdown tonight for an evening dedicated to only the latest (meaning, perhaps, music that hasn't even been officially released yet) tunes. Judging from the DJs' collective track record, we'll guess the Showdown will be showered with hip-hop, booty-bass, and banging dance tunes galore.

What: O.K. Hole w/ Jaws, Sex Worker, Marbeya Sound, and more
Where: Amnesia
When: 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Why: Amnesia's O.K. Hole is of the coolest, weirdest nights to pop up in San Francisco. It's like a disco dance party on acid, with O.K. Hole DJs C.L.A.W.S., Nay Nay, and Muscledrum flexing a no holds barred playlist. They could, for example, just as easily spin Giorgio Moroder as Tangerine Dream. As an added bonus, the party also utilizes Amnesia's stage for live performances. This month features the percussive psychedelia of Jaws and the beat-laden solo project from Mi Ami vocalist Daniel Martin-McCormick called Sex Worker.
