Track of the Day: Visqueen Hands Down Noise Pop Love
![]() |
The single expresses the side of Visqueen songwriter Rachel Flotard that wants to "be happy and make out with Bad Company."There's plenty of good cheer planted in the band's songs. But all that pop happiness came during a difficult time for the musican--Flotard's father passed away after a long battle with cancer, and she wrote this music to help boost her own spirits as much as any fan's.
Flotard isn't just a force to reckoned with on her own records, though. She's also backed Ms. Case on Middle Cyclone and Fox Confessor Brings The Flood. The favor was returned by the iconic redhead for Message to Garcia.
You can check out Flotard's instant charisma for yourself, both with "Hand Me Down," and when Visqueen plays a Noise Pop show on Sunday, Feb. 28 at Bottom of the Hill with Dizzy Balloon, The Hounds Below, and Laarks.
