Local Trio Grass Widow to Release Debut on Kill Rock Stars

​Local post-punk trio Grass Widow has been slowly drawing increased attention since its inception in 2007. We profiled these ladies back in 2008, and now the band has hit the radar of respected Olympia indie Kill Rock Stars, which will release the trio's official debut on August 24. Grass Widowers Raven Mahon, Lillian Maring, and Hannah Lew are up in Portland now to work on the recording with Alex Yusimov of Mississippi Records. They'll come back to town at the end of the  month to play Noise Pop Feb. 27 at Cafe du Nord with P.E.E., Ovens, and True Widow.
