I agree 99%.
1% dissatisfaction with the size of the arrow. It needs to be bigger. IMHO.
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 1:58PMCongratulations! You have created some nice link bait.
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 5:55PMI as well pretty much agree with this chart. I don't see the need for a product in between a laptop and smartphone. If I had a great deal of extra money, I suppose I might get one then.
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 6:01PMNah, no way dude. I have an Iphone and it fits in my pocket! Even with the Mophie extended battery case!

The device shown is a 3 1/2 pound touchscreen laptop that's 1" thick and has an under 4 hour battery life. Price will probably be around $1,000.
Go home. I don't think you under what the iPad even is.
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 6:31PM@Drew Caster I don't think you under what English is! Fanboy -_-

He made one typo, and he was correct. You, on the other hand, are a presumptuous dolt.
On topic: Wow this post is really creative and original! Love it! Keep the edgy, fresh humor coming!
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 7:21PMJust dropping this somewheres.
Please create a MacBook air with swivel touchscreen monitor.
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 7:53PMI hope all you apple geeks out there realize one day you'll wake up and realize just how gay you are.
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 8:45PMI dont need new iPhone since I have iPod Touch 2nd generation and I love it. I am considering about buying this iPad soon!
Posted On: Friday, Feb. 5 2010 @ 11:58PMRe-introduce the 12" ibook in landscape mode-- it would be better than the ipad and kill all the netbooks.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 3:20AMI love how every comment trail on every message board on the net descends into brilliantly petty bitching with inevitable homophobic crap. Wonderful!
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 5:20AMHa, ha...
LoL, If I was given an iPad, maybe I'd accept and play with it...
On the other hand, maybe too soon to tell, but for it's price... it can stay on the shelves...
At least until they give them away... LoL
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 6:08AMI don't want one. ever. to me, it has the same fatal flaw that every other one of the apple products have: form over function.
however, my wife wants one. as she's sitting on the couch with her macbook pro which is syncing with her ipod classic......
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 6:43AMPlease withhold your judge til you held the thing.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 7:00AMSweet, we can now own a 9"x7" iTouch that still can't use multithreading and is filled with Apple's "I own you" mentality.
It's as if Sony would try to sell us a Ghetto blaster. Difference is, Apple has its fanboys and marketing department to make people buy their gadgets.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 7:39AMYea, there's this thing that came out a few years back, I think they called it a laptop? Anyway the battery last's longer and you can use whatever software you want on it. So I think this new "Ipad" (really just an oversized Iphone) was obsolete before it was even produced. Let Apple know that they don't know better than us and don't buy this piece of crap.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 9:36AMI'm doubting that's it's worth the current cost, at least, but apparently it's going to kill Kindle?
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 9:38AMI'm holding out for the iRock. It's also portable and you can throw it.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 10:38AMYou're not the boss of me.

Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 10:45AMWow, the Luddites are out in droves and it's not a technological objection but anti Apple.
The future was handed to you in the iPad and you are blind to it.
I predict in 3 years you will all have an iPad like device and be using it more than your laptop or desktop. You will buy a second one because the 4 people in your family are always fighting over the 1 you have.
Is 499 expensive? Yes. In a year and a half it will be priced at 299 and you will consider it an impulse item.
You don't need a full featured tablet. I had 1, a Fujitsu that ran XP. It was the most useless device in Tablet mode. I mostly used it in its dock with a keyboard and mouse. As a computer
Apples iPad is a tool to do what most of you do daily on your laptop or desktop. Check mail, read info, surf the web and play games.
The difference with the iPad is you will be doing it on the the couch, reclining. You will be able to get up, and go to the kitchen and get a soda and not have missed a frame of the video you were watching. You will go out to the deck and grab a seat and still not have missed a frame. After you have finished the soda, you will get up and head to the bathroom and still not have missed a frame.
I a sure you get my point. It is a content consumption device. Priced high now to limit demand. An impulse item down the road.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 10:50AMdon't buy ipad just yet.wait awhile n c if any 'complaints'turn up n why.then,decide whether its worth it 2 buy 1.be 'patient'.we all can't wait 2 have the latest of 'whatever'comes out new.that way u won't find out the 'hard'way. good luck on whatever u decide,but,i'd wait.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 12:27PMIronically, I had a feeling it was just going to be a picture of the word "no" before I even clicked the link, as I'm sure a lot of other people did as well. This semi-fails for not being at least a little bit creative.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 1:51PMThe iPad is not designed for you and that is what pisses you off. A really cool high powered machine that isn't built with nerds first in mind has made the internet furious... because it is full of nerds! The iPod sucked when it first came out. I bought a creative Zen, it was away better, had an FM radio and a microphone in it and had way better firmware. Yet iPods sold like ice cream laced with crack cocaine.
NO ONE ever went broke under estimating the tastes of the masses.
iPad = win. GET OVER IT.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 2:31PMI think the same chart should be available for the iPhones too!
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 2:57PMill be holding off until i see the android alternative that will be 10x better, and blow the iPad out of the market ;) so far every google program they've come out with has been around 10x better, at the cost of a little flare, and yes, I have tried the apple products.
Posted On: Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 @ 4:03PMYes, I will buy. Waiting eagerly for the stocks to arrive in Singapore. And I'm sure I'm going to be the first few i-Pad customers here.
Posted On: Sunday, Feb. 7 2010 @ 6:02PMHey this thing came out like 30 years ago called a computer. Ever heard of it? I wonder what awesome applications were made for it before it released? When Steve Jobs created the first apple laptop it had no programs and look where they are now. Same with Bill Gates windows. The machine has to exist before you will know how it works.
I don't think that you understand that this is a device that has infine potential right now. Yes as of right now it seems like an oversized itouch but that is only because that is the only thing you can relate it too.
Look at how far iPhone has come with the app store. iPad has the same potential and it's starting out where iPhone has left off. Things are only going to improve. Don't be so quick to down something before you think of it's potential.

its a prety complicated chart !!!
i mean between the "should i" &the "buy"
& the "ipad" & the ""NO""... im just confused!!!
I have a 10 y/o tablet PC that exceeds the iPad in every area except the quality of the screen, but my tablet is 10 years old. But I can read and download ebooks for free, not buy them from Apple, view videos, play games, and check my email.
But then, any tablet or netbook can do all of that so what's the big deal? I have been a Mac fan for over 20 years, but I see a big worm in this Apple.
Posted On: Tuesday, Feb. 23 2010 @ 4:53PMConclusion: Being this is the only one like this on the market (reminds me of my ipod touch) I'd buy it again. Hope HP comes out with a solution to the fans making so much noise.
Posted On: Friday, Mar. 26 2010 @ 9:03AMOscar; having an "iPad like device" wouldn't be a bad thing. Having an iPad would be. Apple has always put form at the expense of function. IT DOESNT EVEN HAVE A SINGLE USB PORT! Even the most fanatical of Appletards should have given a moment of pause and said "Wait.. wtf!?"
This was a social test by Steve Jobs. The purpose: to see if he could offer a smoldering pile of shit and see if his congregate could buy it up.
Results: successful.
It can't even do what the cheapest of 7" netbooks can do: multitask.
Posted On: Monday, Apr. 12 2010 @ 6:06PMGreat Information, thanks for your useful Article. Really great topic to write about on my Website. I probably set a link from another Blog. cheapest netbook
Posted On: Wednesday, Jun. 16 2010 @ 12:28AMTHE IPAD IS JUST ANOTHER EXPENSIVE THING WE DONT NEED IN OUR LIVES.
