Ok, We'll Throw You a Lovers' Mix: Nguzunguzu's "Moments in Love"
![]() |
Love it or hate it, as Valentine's Day approaches, impending images of coupledom threaten to envelope us all. With a gushy holiday weekend around the corner, it's time to gear your thoughts toward your significant other, or at least toward someone whom you'd like to be significant to. To help get you in the mood, global-bass obsessives Nguzunguzu offer lovers and haters alike a free booty-shakin' and baby-makin' mix for V-Day escapades.
Entitled "Moments in Love," the new comp from the LA-based duo brings together the best party mix elements: old-school R&B, modern radio rap, 90's dance music, international rhythms, and more sex jams than you can shake a glowstick at.
The whole affair starts out slowly with melodic synths--as if it needed to seduce you into its warm embrace--before the beat bubbles to the top and Diamond K's "Go Down Baby" ushers in the bump 'n' grind. Featured throughout "Moments in Love" are numerous renditions of Art of Noise's song by the same name, including a live beat box version by Rahzel and a performance of the number by Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Nguzunguzu also offer remixes of the classics-- Ginuwine's "Pony" and "Doing It" by LL Cool J.
Nguzunguzu's mixtape rides the arc between epic blowout and smooth operator with ease, providing the soundtrack for whatever speed love comes at you this weekend.
