Four Tet's New Single: There is More to 'Love' In Him
Late last year he put out the single "Love Cry," which came packaged with stellar remixes from dubstep wunderkind Joy Orbison and UK party-starter Roska, and this January marked the release of Four Tet's fifth and potentially most celebrated album, There Is Love in You. Now, amongst a packed tour that includes a Noise Pop appearance next Friday, Feb. 26 at The Independent, the artist otherwise known as Kieran Hebden has announced a second single from his new record. The UK producer is releasing an extended mix of Love in You stand-out "Sing" on 12" vinyl and digital download March 15.
The bouncing, playful number is easily one of the most upbeat on the record--certainly more immediately danceable than the slow-burning "Love Cry." It relies heavily on the percussive melodies of a xylophone and what sounds like a particularly giddy ringtone. "Sing"'s B-side will house a remix by a producer who Hebden called "my other favorite new London producer at the moment" next to Joy Orbison, Floating Points. Check out the original mix of "Sing" before you hear the elongated version--and you might also want to do everything you can to score tickets to his sold out San Francisco show.
