Tommy Hall is one of the most fascinating music legends I've been lucky enough to interview. The founder, jug player, and psychedelic visionary behind Texas psych band 13th Floor Elevators was the subject of a cover story I wrote for SF Weekly last year. This week I received news that Hall is the hospital. He apparently suffered a heart attack on Feb. 12 while grocery shopping. His friend tells me a bystander witnessed the seizure and called an ambulance, and luckily Hall received medical treatment in time. He's currently recovering in a San Francisco hospital, and his friends hope he'll be released in the next couple of days. I wish Hall a quick and painless recovery.
