Eliot Spitzer @ Commonwealth Club

"The Cataclysm of 2008-2009: Lessons Learned, or Lessons Ignored" is a lecture by a expert on Wall Street crime. Here's a man with history of going after securities-fraud characters, weighing in on regulatory reform and attempts to control the banking industry. It should be a bracing talk, until someone, perhaps you, wonders aloud during the Q&A whether the financial expert has tried to reach out to Tiger Woods, because Tiger Woods could sure use a friend right now. The financial expert is, of course, Eliot Spitzer, who has been doing his best to move on despite things like the Internet and people like us, but that's what you get when join the Emperors Club and have to resign in scandal. But, bygones; Spitzer knows white-collar crime, and when he isn't committing crimes (which would be at present, unless he's insane), everybody could stand to soak up what he's learned about the real criminals out there. ($7-$25, Commonwealth Club, 6 p.m.)
