Prediction: Six New "In" Trends of 2010

Happy first day into breaking your New Year's Resolutions! We're not psychic, but we're pretty sure we have pegged the top six trends of 2010. The Top Six is the new Top 10.

1. High-waisted is the new "skinny jean."

Your butt crack is so 2009. Go back to Levi's, classic jeans, better priced, and leave 2009 "behind" you. Levi Strauss & Company 300 Post St, S.F.

2. Fat is the new thin.

Let's have a fat off in 2010. We'll sign a fat pact, and pinky promise that flesh-on-bones is hotter then a bag full of hangers. Did you read our post on the "10 Fat-tastic Foods to Eat in SF"? One a day keeps the skinny away.

3. Drunk is the new sober.

Seriously, unless you are on the television show Intervention, you don't have a problem. There are a plethora of bars we can recommend to keep you comfortably numb, but why not try The Fishbowl Bar and Grill at 1854 Divisadero Street S.F.

4. Couch surfing is the new rock climbing.

If Jersey Shore, football, and buffalo wings are not enough to keep you on the couch during 2010, we're not sure you're ready for the new year. Maybe you should go climb a rock like ivy at Planet Granite, 924 Old Mason Street S.F.

5. Cat is the new dog.

Cats encourage couch surfing, whereas dogs trick you into exercise. Sure the dog runs after the ball, but who bends and then throws everytime... you do. Plus, now that SF passed the new no de-clawing cats law, the pre-clawed cat couch is coming soon to an Ikea near you (also awesome because your cats will "distress" your new Levi's jeans for that pre-worn look if you want to go retro - see #1).

6. Stand up is the new blogging.

Stop writing to yourself (and your mom) and start trying to make a room for of strangers laugh. Your audience of 3 at wordpress.com isn't solving your self esteem problems, but maybe being funny will. Get a lesson (you'll need it) at The San Francisco Comedy College 414 Mason Street S.F.
