It's a pretty cool move to name the songs on your album after the words in your band name. The latest
Do Make Say Think record,
Other Truths, comprises four songs titled "Do," "Make," "Say," and "Think." Each tune by the Toronto collective runs between 8 and 12 minutes, but my favorite one of the bunch is the 10-minute opener "Do." And when I say "opener," I mean the instrumental just unfolds and unfolds again, blossoming into a symphony of guitars, horns, percussion, and other instruments texturizing this post rock opus until it calms back down on a buzzing bed of synths. It's a pretty stunning tune, and you can check it out on
The Burning Ear, which posted the track
here. Should you be interested in the vinyl deal,
Other Truths comes in some very pretty packaging, with a CD inside and credits that include
Akron/Family on vocals.
