​Look Out Weekend (L.O.W.) has spent the summer throwing free Friday happy hour pool parties, waiting for the weather to catch up with their event. Well this weekend it seems like the sunshine's gonna throw them a favor. Head over to the Bambuddha Lounge tonight between 4 and 9 p.m. and you can catch L.O.W. fave/ Montana native DJ Pony P, who delivers hot party jams all over the city no matter the nighttime temperature.

Styles of music you spin: Party jams! Rap, electro, Miami bass, Bmore, disco, R&B, funk/soul, old school and "golden era" hip-hop.

So what's your story, in 100 words or less: I'm from Montana. My pops was a local jazz great and we had a wall of vinyl in our living room. I got really into hip-hop in college and began collecting vinyl. In '04, a friend gave me a crate of his rejected drum and bass records, soon after I bought Numark belt drive decks and a mixer. I moved to Chicago where I scratched vinyl in favor of making friends. In the beginning, it was more about turntablism, but unfortunately it's hard to rock a party with a beat juggle. Evolution of the DJ, I suppose. I always enjoyed trapping people and making them listen to songs, turns out I wanted to do that for rooms of people.

Worst request: "Can you play something I can dance to?" Being unable to move to music you don't recognize is a phenomenon that I'll never understand.

Worst club faux pas you've commited: Record skips, ignoring requests in places I probably shouldn't, too many drink tickets...WINK.

Most treasured vinyl score: My original pressing of Salt n Pepa's "Push It"

What other music-related projects are you currently working on? I have ideas and plans to launch a new monthly in the near future. Someday digitalizing my vinyl collection and facing the world of Serato. My DJ tag-team partner Pozibelle and I are performing and working on a mixtape together as Smashy-Trashy. Breaking hearts on the side...

What's something happening in the local music scene that should be getting more attention: Too much to mention! I've lived in SF for almost 3 years and continue to discover people/parties in all different genres that are successfully doing their thing. Initially, I was disenchanted because I moved here with such high expectations. A lot of parties are just glossy flyers and friend connects that remain successful because to the untrained ear, the subtleties and nuances of a great performance/DJ tend to go unnoticed. One of my favorite nights that has stood the test of SF nightlife time is Change the Beat at Madrone w/ Centipede and Citizen Ten.

Christian at L.O.W. is always bringing talented and sought-after acts for free.

Alexander Spit's "Open 24 hours" release party at Slims on Sept. 4th will be sure to impress.

My too-many-to-mention DJ friends and promoters doing it and doing it well...

What elements would your fantasy club night entail: Intimacy yet turnout. A great sound system. A receptive crowd comprised of all the homies. An after-party involving a body of water.
