Drive-In Movie @
Mobile Movie is hosting another guerrilla drive-in adventure tonight. They're planning to show the Will Ferrell classic Anchorman at 8 p.m. So where should you park it this time? Sign up for their Twitter feed to find out. (Update: MobMov announced this morning that the movie will be shown in a parking lot at 17th & Folsom. Parking costs around $2 for the night).
Ty Segall @ Amoeba (Friday)
Ty Segall's one of the best garage rock acts in the city these days--and that's no small feat, given the crazy talent the Bay Area is hosting, from Thee Oh Sees to Sic Alps and Nobunny. Each group puts its own spin on stripped down, Segall's being a feral howl and droll observations about hooking up. Check out his free in-store at Amoeba tonight at 6 p.m.
Nobunny, Personal & the Pizzas @ Annie's (Friday)
And yeah, speaking of Nobunny, he perverts decades of greasy, dirty-minded rock 'n' roll from behind a bunny mask. And then speaking of grease, Personal & the Pizzas do the legacy of the Dictators right, serving up healthy slices of humorous attitude in their retro licks. These two headline a big ol' punk party at Annie's. ($7, 9 p.m.)
