Track of the Day: Charlie & The Moonhearts

Friday's as good a morning as any to hear a song about goin' to Arcata, meetin' some kids, dancin' all night, and experiencing "Obliteration." So Cal's Charlie & the Moonhearts play the sorta scrapped up, stripped down garage rawk that encourages such delinquent behavior. Sample their invitation to wipe out the weekend at the band's MySpace page, where you can also check out another tune that I imagine goes over well up in Arcata, "Drop In Drop Out." That one's about the finer points of skipping school, and it's catchy enough to vacate the classrooms--or at least to fill the Hemlock, where the band plays tonight with Ty Segall (dude has another new record out already. It's great. Just like the last one...and the next one I imagine).
