Tupac's Birthday Today

Everyone's favorite thug angel, Tupac Amaru Shakur, would have been 38 today. Born in 1971 to a Black Panther mother, 'Pac came to symbolize the voice of his generation like no one except maybe Jim Morrison, another societal rebel who became a pop culture phenomenon. (Interestingly, neither 'Pac nor Mr. Mojo Rising rate a mention in Peter Hautlaub's "resurrect-a-dead-celebrity-for-one-concert"  article in today's Chron. Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol - or the copy editing.) In honor of 'Pac's birthday, Davey-D posts two interviews he did with 'Pac, one from 1991, and another from 1996, along with a 25-song mix of "Pac's latest and greatest"  and a "Birthday Tribute Mix," featuring Yoyo, Shock G, Michael Eric Dyson, and Cynthia McKinney. This being 'Pac's b-day and all, you have our official permission to get your thug on at your cubicle. If your boss wonders why you have your feet up and are sipping Hennessy and Alize, just yell, "wesssssssiiiiiidddddeeeeeee!!!!"
