Local spaz-punks XBXRX have turned to the Radiohead model of releasing a digital recording: give the public the goods for free, in hopes that fans will dutifully donate some cash to the band (although we imagine this carrot doesn't come with the stick of a high-priced box set at the other end).

Fans of the high-speed, high-energy Oakland act can grab a copy of its fifth album, Un Usper from the band's Web site, where the members note: "The band invested considerable time and money to bring this recording into existance. Yr donation would be appreciated." Invite the glorious chaos of mismatched beats, loud guitar bleats, and general sonic roughhousing onto your home computer for the price of having a conscience, whatever value you wanna give that one.
