Michael Jackson R.I.Parties (All Weekend)
We'll be adding parties to our list as we hear about them (be sure to post your recommendations below). For now, we suggest fueling your King of Pop nostalgia at one of these places: on Friday, Milk's "Culture Clash" DJ party with Dr. Mr. E and Dave Paul already focuses on "all the great '80s singalong classics we all love," including hip-hop, pop, new wave, and the like. Bonus: Dave Paul is one of the masterminds behind the legendary Prince vs. Michael Jackson parties ($5 before 11 p.m...$10 after. Get on the guestlist by emailing milkbarsf@gmail.com). [UPDATE**: Eric Arnold reports that Ankh Marketing is also sponsoring a Michael Jackson tribute this Saturday at 330 Ritch with DJs Mr. E, Ant One, and De. RSVP to ankhmarketingevents@gmail.com for free admittance before 10 p.m. ($5 until 11 p.m.)] And then there's always the karaoke bars (the Mint, Encore) where you can bet your karaoke jockey's tip jar that folks are gonna be hollering "Man in the Mirror" well through last call.

Treasure Island Drive-In With 'Top Gun' (Friday)
Drive-In movies are the best--especially when they screen films you actually could've seen from your car back in the day. The mobile guerrilla drive-in group Mobmov hosts Top Gun out on Treasure Island tonight at 9 p.m. Stay up on their traveling flicks through the Mobmov Twitter. (9 p.m., free)

La Haine (Friday)
Alliance Française is hosting "20 Films in Paris" over the next two months, and tonight's flick is a real treat. La Haine (Hate) is a 1995 film about life in a French ghetto, complete with a killer French hip-hop soundtrack and a young Vincent Cassel in a lead role. Get outta work early for this one: the film screens at 5 p.m. and admission is free.

The Hunches (Friday)
Your ears deserve to be punished. They've been bad. So bad, in fact, that you should allow the Hunches to get in there and kick the shit outta your hearing in the back room of the Hemlock tonight with their noisy garage/punk/feedback scramble. How else they gonna learn? (9:30 p.m., $8)
 
Gay Pride Parties (All Weekend)
A big ol' gay party for a big ol' gay proud city. Hit the Civic Center for the official Pride events Saturday and Sunday, or fly a little more under the radar with these shindigs: Charlie Horse at the Cinch  (Friday, free, 10 p.m.); Go Bang! at Deco (Saturday, $5, 10 p.m.); and the Post Dyke March Extravaganza at Lexington Club (Saturday, free, 10 p.m.).

Sound Cave (Saturday)
"At his cynicism-melting 'Sound Cave,' Tyson Ayers piles sound boards to make something that can really only be called a fort, the kind children make out of couch cushions. Viewers can crawl inside and contemplate the specially tuned ultrachords that don't exist anywhere else, or they can creep around the structure, running fingers over the hundreds of copper-wrapped wires." --Hiya Swanhuyser. Citay, Tune-yards, The Dry Spells, Dame Satan (Saturday)
Free is the key word for this show at the Tempest. Not only is there no cost to get in (although you're, ahem, free to donate to the bands), but each of these acts takes liberties with the boundaries of psych and folk rock. This is Citay's last show for a while before Ezra Feinberg goes back in the studio, and it's also a good chance to preview the real purdy material on the Dry Spells' upcoming debut release. (9 p.m.)

Bingo (Saturday)
Bingo isn't just a game for little old ladies. It's also a pastime for folks who like to hang out in bars during happy hour. On Saturday from 5:30-7:30, hit the Riptide for a game, where "first place wins the pot, second place wins the shots." ($5)

Beat Brunch Session (Sunday)
The Magnificent 7 DJs (Dave Aju, The Tourist, Sammy D, Guillermo, Mr Wrong, Subtext, Circuit73) take over the Triple Crown for a brunch bash that lasts through dinner time. Dance indoors or take out a streetside table for the crew's Beat Brunch Session.  Admission is free. If you feel like drinking, step up to the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar for $7. (noon-7 p.m.)

Brutal SFX Festival Sixty (Sunday)
End your weekend on a noisy note at Brutal SFX's outdoor party at Pharoah Maybelline's Sound Trough. On deck to perform: Willie Winant on glockenspiel, along with DJ Stereo Steve (Windowpain Industries) and 60s Residue.  Show is listed as happening from 5 until 7 p.m, and it's a potlock sorta thingy so bring something to munch on. (Free, donations accepted).
