Have you ever wondered what Mogwai (or My Bloody Valentine, for that matter) would sound like covering A-Ha? Thanks to Toronto/Berlin based metal'gazers Nadja, you now are privy to that fantasy partnership. The duo recently released a pretty incredible covers album, When I See The Sun Always Shines On TV, which throws an eclectic batch of classics into a turbulent whirlpool of fuzz and drone. Aside from A-Ha (whose "The Sun Always Shines on TV" you can hear covered here), the group tackles Elliott Smith ("Needle in the Hay"), Slayer ("Dead Skin Mask"), Kids in the Hall, Codeine, Swans, and--cheekily--My Bloody Valentine's "Only Shallow," slowed down to a near stoned-stupor fighting against all that white noise. Great stuff, indeed (just ask Aquarius).
