The track listing for the Funk Aid For Africa CD--which ASD told you about a while back--has been announced, and it sounds like a global hipster's wet dream come true: Ocote Soul Sounds, the Lions, the Pimps of Joytime, DJ Kiva, Dario Boente, Amayo's Fu-Arkist-Ra, Ticklah feat. Mayra Vega, Tm Juke and the Jack Baker Trio, Nappy G, Ursula Rucker, Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra, The Pleasuremaker Band, 7 Miles Per Hour Band, Happy Mayfield, Chico Mann, J-Boogie's Dubtronic Science, Daisuke Naito, Meta & the Cornerstones, and El Pueblo.

It's nice to see some local bands included along with Daptone and Antibalas alumni, and even cooler that the official record release party is thTONIGHT at the Elbo Room, featuring featuring J-Boogie, DJ OBaH, Happy Mayfield, and the Pleasuremaker Band. But the best thing about the project is that it supports much-needed humanitarian efforts to help African children imperiled by the AIDS crisis. For more info, click here.
