Bay Bands Restore Maximum Freedom
| Wooden Shjips |
Planning to be in Central California this weekend? Wanna see hella local bands play for a cheap price? Stop off in Davis May 16 for KDVS' annual shindig, Operation Restore Maximum Freedom . As first posted on underground music website the Bay Bridged, ORMF features a large Bay Area contingent: headliner Wooden Shjips, plus Thee Oh Sees, Strip Mall Seizures, The Nothing, and Please Quiet Ourselves, along with groups from Placerville, Portland, L.A., and Sacramento. Tickets are a ridiculously-cheap $10 at the door, and as the Bay Bridged notes, "The event is heavily attended not only for its boastful cast, but also for its fabulous location: the grimy, middle-of-nowhere barbeque and bar, Plainfield Station in Woodland (just outside of Davis)." Sounds like a great excuse for a road trip, if you needed one. Here's an mp3 of Wooden Shjips' "Shrinking Moon for You" to get you in the mood.
