Nick Tangborn, the lumberjack-tall, ever-friendly guy behind the
Jackpine Social Club label, is moving on to Austin next month. Tangborn is a steadfast supporter of many a local songwriter, releasing early
Kelley Stoltz music on Jackpine as well as albums by indie pop, folk, and rock acts ranging from
Oranger to Parchman Farm to
Loquat and
Tom Heyman. He's also worked in the music biz as a writer and editor at various dotcoms and done time behind the decks as a DJ--before taking the big leap to work for that delicious pancake batter in a can company,
Batter Blaster. Pay your respects to this hard workin', hard drinkin' icon on Sunday, May 3 at
Bottom of the Hill, with performances by Oranger, Ian Moore, Mover, Kelley Stoltz, Tom Heyman, and DJ Foodcourt.
