Afrolicious Turns Two
| Pleasuremaker and Senor Oz |
The Mission District's favorite go-to spot for Afrobeat, Nuyorican Soul, and Baile funk celebrates its second birthday with a two-night blowout this Thursday and Friday. As the PR states, "The vision for the party was to incorporate live drums and guests musicians and to bring the crowd in as a central ingredient to the performance. Bridging the gap between Fela and Afro-house, Tito Puente and Masters at Work Afrolicious runs the spectrum of soulful global music." Joining resident DJs Senor Oz and Pleasuremaker, and drummers B.Lee and J.Elrod at the Elbo Room for the birthday bash are special guests from NYC: Nickodemus (Turntables on the Hudson), Nappy G and DJ Smash (Giant Step/Fat Jazzy Grooves). So, you know this is gonna be a serious throwdown.
