The 10 Most Annoying Reality TV Stars

(Jon and Kate Plus 8 makes 10. . . but only Kate makes our list)

It's not an easy feat to be considered one of the most annoying stars of reality television when the bulk of the competition is fierce, loud, obnoxious and willing to do just about anything in front of the cameras. Like the fat that congeals at the top of a stew, these 10 individuals stand out from the pack:

10. Kate Gosselin
The matriarch of TLC's Jon and Kate Plus 8, Gosselin rules her brood and especially her husband with an iron glare. Poor Jon looks like he's in a permanent state of shell-shock. However, she's clearly got nothing on Octo-Mom Nadya Suleman, so Gosselin is just holding the place on this list until Suleman scores her own reality show.

9. Patti Stanger

As the Millionaire Matchmaker, Patti Stanger claims a 99% rate of success as well as a family history of picking perfect mates for people of means. But even though Stanger clearly has a good heart, she can be just as superficial as the even more annoying clients she tolerates.

8. Ongina
Recently eliminated from the Logo series RuPaul's Drag Race (think America's Next Top Model for drag queens), the only thing worse than Ongina's name is the obvious delight s/he takes in it making people feel uncomfortable.

7. Mystery
This sassy specimen of manhood is referred to on television (and in the buzzed about book The Game) as The Pick-Up Artist. With no irony at all. None. Ladies, are you throwing your panties in his direction yet?

6. Heidi Montag
A star of the scripted reality drama The Hills, Montag's fake fights with her boyfriend/Mexican wedding husband Spencer Pratt on the show are in hilarious contrast to the overly lovey tones of the absurdly staged paparazzi pictures the couple take on a regular basis as some sort of perverse part-time job. Despite such ardent attempts to annoy, Montag might not have placed so high on this list were it not for her insistence on giving a career in crappy pop music a go.

5. Aubrey O'Day
Rap entrepreneur Sean "Diddy" Combs signed O'Day to his girl group Danity Kane over the course of two seasons of his Making The Band series. He then watched in horror over two subsequent seasons as she morphed from girl next door to a trashy wannabe porn star (who recently appeared on the cover of Playboy) with dreams of solo stardom that fractured and ultimately dissolved Danity Kane. Watching O'Day's selfishness boil over the dreams of four other talented girls is pretty darned annoying.

4. Donald Trump
The receding sourpuss is still a looming presence on the boob tube. Trump's Apprentice television franchise continues to weaken in the Nielsen ratings, yet NBC refuses to tell the real estate mogul his favorite catchphrase, "You're fired!"

3. New York
Tiffany "New York" Pollard was given the nickname of New York by Flavor Flav on his dating show Flavor of Love because he couldn't remember individual names, and from there she built up her brash persona as high as the Empire State. She made enough of an impression on producers that they gave her two seasons of her own dating show I Love New York as well as New York Goes to Hollywood, the latter showcasing her painful attempt to become a "legitimate" actress. Pollard then made a forgettable cameo on Nip/Tuck and quite probably a memorable one in a recent stage adaptation of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues, but it's probably safe to say we won't see her in any serious roles.

2. The Entertainer
Frank "The Entertainer" Maresca is the number one reason why New York should not have gotten her own dating show. Most remembered on I Love New York for sucking on her toes and talking constantly about living with his parents, he continues to regularly degrade the VH1 network with his shirtless, screaming presence on the I Love Money series.

1. Sister Patterson
Only one could be more obnoxious than Miss New York, and that's the lady who gave her life. The defnition of "extra," Sister Michelle Patterson, who has appeared in each show with her daughter, felt no qualms about lying to her spawn on camera on Flavor of Love, telling her she had cancer in hopes that New York would stop her pursuit of Flavor Flav. She was even too over the top for the rap hypeman/former crackhead, who was so infuriated by her that tried to throw her out of his "house." Now that's annoying.
