Special Guests Announced For Tom Morello's Slim's Show

Somebody's Watching You: Tom Morello

Back in the pre-Obama days, Tom Morello was like, the only guitar god with a conscience. While Slash and Jack White were doing bumps off of stripper tits, Morello was playing demonstrations outside the Democratic National Convention (with Rage Against the Machine) and becoming the first American rock band to play a free show in Cuba (with Audioslave). Morello's kept the revolutionary fervor stoked with his solo project, The Nightwatchman, which Morello has called his "political folk alter-ego," sort of an electrified Woody Guthrie.

But even the most dedicated rebel rocker needs a little help from his friends, and with that in mind, Morello's March 26 show at Slim's looks to be something special. Joining Morello onstage will be Communist emcee Boots Riley, legendary radical Wayne Kramer (of MC5), socially-conscious country rocker Steve Earle and Slipknot's Corey Taylor. The show is a benefit for Axis of Justice, Morello's non-profit organization, which connects social justice activism with music. Tickets are a reasonable $15, and the show starts at 8 p.m.

While Slash and Jack White were doing bumps off of stripper tits>> sir, you sure are an idiot. White may not be outright political person as Tom but White has a song called 'The Big 3 Killed My Baby' and he once altered the lyrics and sang "Bush's hands are turning red… and I found out your baby is dead.". And he has another song called "Icky Thump" which bashes Bush administration's immigration policy. Besides, his wife is in a political Cabaret act which was formed when Bush got re-elected.
