Ankh Marketing's latest PR has announced America's favorite Crip, none other than Snoop Dogg, will be playing at Mezzanine April 4th.(UPDATE: MEZZANINE'S OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE NOW LISTS THE SHOW DATE AS APRIL 3, AS DOES LOCATION 415'S WEBSITE) The party, a celebration for Warriors star Stephen Jackson, will also feature as-yet-unannounced "Bay Area DJs."
Despite Snoop's oft-cited gang affiliations, anyone who can turn around a life of crime, violence, and incarceration and become a bonafied American celebrity (not to mention a role model to chronic smokers everywhere) is okay in our book - even if Snoop owes the Bay Area some royalties for, er, copping our slang and making it nationwide.
