DJ, DeeJay: Sake One and Willie Maize
Has it been four years of DJ Sake One's "Pacific Standard Time" already? Apparently, time flies when you're spinning dope tunes--both classic and soon-to-be classic--and hosting legendary guest DJs, up-and-coming live acts, and otherwise putting the "flavor" in the expression "local flavor."

PST's anniversary happens tonight at 330 Ritch, and, just to make the event extra-memorable, the featured DJ will be none other than (808 drum roll please)... Kool DJ Red Alert. For those who ain't knowing, Red Alert is one of the pioneers of East Coast hip-hop, a radio legend who had a hand in the careers of innumerable artists in the "true school" era, from Boogie Down Productions to the Jungle Brothers to A Tribe Called Quest to De La Soul to the Ultramagnetic MC's. And, as far as we can remember, he's never played the Bay Area. How special is that? We can only guess what treats Red has in store from his deeeeep crates, so get there early, because this event will most likely sell out.
