Green Day Reissues Their Entire Catalog - On Vinyl
| Green Day: In Yer Face |
There's nothing quite like crispy, shrink-wrapped vinyl LPs, is there? In anticipation of Green Day's upcoming new release, 21st Century Breakdown, Reprise Records has announced it will be reissuing the Berkeley pop-punx entire catalog on audiophile 12-inch vinyl throughout 2009.
The G-Day LP onslaught begins on March 24th, when 39/Smooth and Kerplunk! hit retail outlets. From there, expect to see a new reissue every month. Dookie comes out April 18th, in honor of the second annual Record Store Day, followed by Insomniac (two LPs w/gatefold sleeve) in May, Nimrod in June, Warning in July, International Superhits! in August, the b-sides/rarities/cover collections Shenanigans in September, and American Idiot in November.
The reissue effort also includes Bullet in a Bible, a live CD/DVD skedded for November, and an as-yet-untitled box set of singles, live recordings, international tracks and b-sides (including material recorded under the names Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network), which hits stores in July. If you're a Green Day fan and/or own a turntable, this is good news indeed.
