Rick Lee Launches New Bay Area Music Magazine

Sucka Free: Rick Lee

If you like hardcore Bay Area/West Coast rappers like Keak Da Sneak and The Jacka, or get titillated by industry gossip about Suge Knight allegedly getting a beatdown by a member of Akon's entourage, there's a new magazine just for you: Go Der (urban slang for "go there"). The mag promises exclusive content, and while we haven't seen a hard copy of it yet, the online version contains hella videos, downloadable DJ mixes, and, it must be said, a lot of advertising eye-candy to scroll through to access the content.

Go Der is the brainchild of Rick "The Dragon" Lee, the KMEL mixmaster with his ear to the streets, and, unsurprisingly, many of the ads hype his club nights, mix CDs, and/or those of his crew, the SBC DJs. The best part of the mag IMO is the tawdry tabloid-style items (which you have to register to see). Interestingly, Go Der makes no claim at the accuracy or authenticity of these items, noting "Most of these stories are speculation and are here for your reading enjoyment. None of these things were told to Go Der directly, but have been passed on as rumors, for the most part!" Hopefully, Suge won't sue.
