MP3 of the Day: Neko Case

Neko Case has a new record, Middle Cyclone, coming out March 3, but her brand-spankin'-new single just came out on the Anti- Records blog. The song, "People Got a Lotta Nerve," offers a very different tone from the typical female love 'em and leave 'em ditty. Her story of being a maneater who surprises her lover with her selfish ways is a strangely upbeat near apology ... a song both beautiful and bittersweet. You can download the track for free here. Case comes to San Francisco for a special evening of "conversation and song" as part of the excellent City Arts & Lectures series on Wednesday, Jan. 28. More info on that intimate event here.
