MP3 of the Day: Kreamy 'Lectric Santa

Santa's got the long beard, so you know a band named in his honor is gonna throw some jams in the bag. But the East Bay --my way of Miami--act Kreamy 'Lectric Santa isn't so straightforward as to sound like a bunch of holiday hippies hitting the bong. The group has been around the block a few times (hard to tell the exact year they kicked things off, but looks like they make records through the '90s), pulling from eclectic roots, its influences ranging from 13th Floor Elevators and Sun City Girls to Gong and Crass. Listening to the tune "Nu World Order Society" I hear Camper Van Beethoven's smart-ass earth punk aesthetic setting out on a space coaster by the end. Definitely the good kinda weird going on here.
