why would hardly strickly bluegrass or power to the peaceful have an issues re: financial distributions? the are FREE shows and NOT FOR PROFIT. Another Planet walked away from the festival with a few million dollars and the park got trashed and $815,000 and didn't even have to pay their police bill it was waived by city hall. the the three free festivals in the park pay all of their permit fees, police fees and give the music to the city. When comparing these concerts the main thought should be only ONE is fOR pROFIT THE REST ARE not FOR PROFIT.

I have heard so much whining about this entire festival about the planning and the noise, the transportation and the lines. What people don't realize is that this was the FIRST year trying out a festival of that caliber... so take into account the planners and promoters weren't entirely aware of what to expect as far and transportation, signs, porto pots, etc. In my opinion I feel that they did a great job under the circumstances.

Yes, there were long lines for the restrooms, but no longer than i have seen at any other concert/fest. Try a little patience.

The transportation was more than i would have expected. They ENCOURAGED public transport and did what they could to acomodate as many people as possible, while still trying to remain fair to the environment, and taking into consideration the parking situation in and around the park.

The signs on friday were few and far between, yes. But come Sunday, there were many more signs pointing out places of interest if you didn't notice. Another thing that changed were some of the pathways and set up between the first and last days, like the circle jerk that happened with people trying to see beck... they moved fences. they had people out there cutting them down while the show was going on to try to solve the traffic coming back. For a first year event you can't always predict where people are going to want to make their own pathways. They know now, and I am certain they have taken these things into account and will change them for the future.

As for the noise in the neighborhood, I don't see how Outside Lands made any more noise then the green apple or hardly strictly. I will say that perhaps they need to cut the sound for the festival slightly earlier to try to make the neighbors happy.

In general, I had a great time, and cant wait to do it again. I don't believe any more harm was done to the park then any other festivals that are held there. Truth be told, any money at this point is beneficial to the park, so if it was only 800K... so be it.

I also hope the complainers stay home this year. If the sound cuts out again durring someones set, It won't ruin MY entire weekend.
