Van Arno's "The Boogie Disease" at Shooting Gallery

The Shooting Gallery starts off 2009 with the latest solo showing from Los Angeles-based artist Van Arno. The Boogie Disease is a series of 15 oil paintings on canvas and wood combining Arno's use of surrealism and popular mythology. Arno's new works also displays his progression into a smoother style, as well as incorporating compositions of icons such as Johnny Cash and Tina Turner. The Boogie Disease premieres with an opening reception on Jan. 10, and will remain for viewing until Feb. 7, 2009. Visit shootinggallerysf.com for a preview. --Oscar Pascual
