The Lowbrow Art Sale: Audrey Kawasaki, Luke Chueh & Amanda Visell

"Two Sisters" by Audrey Kawasaki

For a while now it has been extremely hard for fans to get a hold of a print by Audrey. So in the last few weeks she had a poll, and has decided to release a "timed" print this Friday. There will be two versions of this print, a 26" x 30" editon that comes framed and is limited to 75. Then a 14" x 18" version that will be sold from 12-1pm, which means if you order the print at that time you are pretty much guaranteed to get it. So if you've been waiting for a print of hers, now itsthe time to do it. Watch the "Shop" area of her website this coming December 5th at noon. Get It Here.

"Griffin the Endosaur" by Amanda Visell

griffintheendosaur.jpg The Excellent Virtu Gallery has put up a few new prints by Amanda Visell. It has been a while since I have shown one of her prints, and it looks like they have some really cool ones for sale. "March of the Axephunts" and "Weatherbot" are new, along with the one shown here, "Griffin the Endosaur." The great thing is that this one comes framed for you. I actually have a hard time picking frames, or even getting around to it, so having a print come pre-framed in a way the artist intended is always nice. This print is 20" x 20" and is a signed and numbered edition of 20. ALSO, if you head on over and order a print (anything besides the new Visells or Amy Sol) and enter "Creep Machine" in the checkout area, you will get an extra 20% off. Something nice that Excellent Virtu is doing for the readers here. Get It Here.

"Honey Bear" by Luke Chueh
Honey-Bear.jpgGallery 1988 has just released this exclusive print by Luke Chueh. So the only place you will be able to buy this is the gallery, and as we all know, Ebay later on for super inflated prices. The print is 16" x 20", signed and numbered in an edition of 200. I know I have said it before, but I have to say again: 1988's prints look amazing in person, they have the technology to bring you the best. Call the gallery at 323.937.7088 or e-mail them at gallery1988@aol.com to pick one of these up.

"Uprooted Stump Girl" by Angie Mason
lg_miniuprootedstump.jpgLots of artists and galleries were having "Black Friday" sales; Angie is still having a killer sale right now. It looks as though all of the prints in her store are 50% off. So the once featured here is only $25. I love the whole concept of this piece, for me it really shows that great imagination that Angie has. The unique thing about this print, is that while it is only 4" x 5", it's stretched on canvas, on little stretches bars. How cool is that? Perfect for your computer desk area. Get It Here.

"Hare" by James Jean

It's not often that I get to do this, so I didn't want to pass this up: James Jean has given his fans the ability to download high-resolution images of the show poster for his upcoming solo show at the Jonathan Levine Gallery. From what I have seen, this new show is going to be amazing, and a great show to kick off 2009. I have printed mine out, and was able to get it at 10" x 12" and looking super fine. If you don't have a printer that will really take advantage of how good this file is, bring it to a print shop and get it printed that way. You will basically have a high quality giclee print that is only missing a signature.
