A gaggle of wig mannequins isn't the most common audience for live music (though at some snore-inducing gigs it sometimes feels like it). This Friday, however, the monthly "
Anaphylactic" indie showcase moves from its usual home at Million Fishes Arts Collective to the Mission District salon known as
Dreamers and Make Believers. If
reviews on Yelp.com are to be believed, the two lasses in command of the shears at D&MB are impeccable stylists worth dying for. But here at ASD it's all about the music, and this month's installment of Anaphylactic is headlined by Maus Haus, the local indie-psych-electronic outfit that's been alternately described as "pop bent through the surreal lens of krautrock and cosmic psych" and "the stuff that dreams are made of" -- with all due respect to a certain literary bird, of course. Portland's Explode Into Colors and SF's Ripped Up (i.e., Daniel & Damon of Mi Ami with synth-guy Steve Summers) round out the lineup. The show starts at 8 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 5, costs $7, and is open to all ages. Haircuts will set you back extra. --
