Tis the season for everybody and their brother's band to record a Christmas song, but perhaps the most interesting news of a holiday jingle comes from
Wooden Shjips HQ. According to
Aquarius' latest newsletter, the local kings of drone have released their versions of "O Tannenbaum" and "Auld Lang Syne," psyched- and stretched-out to 8-minutes a pop. The songs are available on cassette only
(remember the cassingle?) and from the sound of things, they may even be gone by the time you read this. The band only released 100 copies, 35 of which went to Aquarius. All sales of the songs go to the
San Francisco Food Bank.... no Scrooges, these dudes.
