("Coral Reefer" by Mickey Hart)

Grateful Dead fans can stop gazing at all those old posters and tie-dyes on Haight Street and check out more recent works of art by a member of those iconic hippies. Dead drummer Mickey Hart is having an art show that opens today at Dennis Rae Art Gallery (a gallery that, coincidentally, also has a show by Tony Curtis this month). Hart's exhibition comprises pieces of redwood worked into sculptures of dragons, squid, and motorcycles. The show opens to the public on Saturday, Nov. 22, but you've gotta RSVP for the guest list if you want to attend and see Hart in the flesh. -- Jennifer Maerz
