The Lowbrow Art Sale: Michael Hussar, Leslie Ditto & Mercedes Helnwein
"Cherry Pie" by Michael Hussar
![]()
BirdBath Publishing has just released a new print by Michael Hussar that is ready for pre-order. The print, titled “Cherry Pie," is 12″x 15″and signed and numbered in an edition of 88. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The release date for this one is in late November. So if you're a big fan of Michael’s work, it could be a good chance to score something that is sure to sell out very quickly. I love the color used in this piece as well as the beautiful collar (similar to the one on his “Morphine” painting). It looks like a beautiful companion piece to those who might be lucky enough to own a “Daddy’s Girl” print, which still seems to pop up from time to time, commanding huge prices. Don't miss out on this one. Get It Here.
"Lush" Leslie Ditto

An artist out of Memphis, Leslie Ditto is inspired by such artists as Frazetta, Boris Vallejo and many of the "Old Masters." She is also a member of the Beinart Surreal Collective. Her work has this amazing glowing quality to it, which I'm sure is from the glazing technique that she uses and her mastery of the medium. In this print you can see how surreal her work is; a definite conversation piece. This one is a canvas print, limited to an edition of 30. The print is also a generous 24" x 36". Get It Here.
"Untitled (Dump Truck)" by Mercedes Helnwein

After the show at the Shooting Gallery a bit back, I was happy to see that POVEvolving has some prints from Mercedes Helnwein, and one of them just happens to be one of the works that she had in that show. This had to be one her pieces that I liked best. The pencil marks were energetic and the contrast makes for a very dynamic drawing. The print comes in either in 10" x 7" or 22.5" x 16" and is limited to 100 and 35, respectively. Get It Here.
"New Beginnings" by Tom Bagshaw

Central Illustration has just opened a shop online, and is selling prints by some of the artists that you may find in their books. These prints were all in limited editions of only 10, so what is ever on the site is all that is left from various sales and whatnot. One of the artists that I was excited to see at the shop is Tom Bagshaw, a wonderful artist that I have featured in these articles once before. This reproduction is roughly 20" x 28" and has that amazing look and feel that Tom consistently has in all of his work. Get It Here.
"The Ramones" by Chris Kasch
![]()
An illustrator out of the UK, Chris has been working for 14 years and has an impressive list of clients such as Rolling Stone, for whom this image was created. This print is also available from the Central Illustration Shop, so just like Tom Bagshaw above, it's only limited to 10. This is a great classy image, but you can still see some brush marks in the work so it doesn't look like just a photo. I have some friends who love the Ramones, so this looks like a killer Christmas idea. Get It Here.
