MP3 of the Day: T. Raumschmiere

There's something about Berlin electro-punk T. Raumschmiere that reminds me more than a little of early Nine Inch Nails -- back when Trent Reznor was doing more industrial-strength kicking and screaming than brooding and tooling around on the ivories. Check out "I Crack a Smile," one of the new tracks off Raumschmiere's new disc, I Tank You on his MySpace page and tell me you don't hear a bit of that NIN bile in the lyrics "If you leave, close the door/take all that's yours, I can't take it any more... you go your way and I go mine." Although unlike Reznor, Raumschmiere is very much an extrovert, putting out the kinda punk infused techno that gets hips and jaws grinding. ("Sick Like Me" is an oldie but goodie worth checking out too: "You want to hear some nice words baby, I'm already losing nice words when I tell you that it sucks" ).
