MP3 of the Day: Personal and the Pizzas
My friend Robert over at Amoeba hipped me to these guys, Personal and Pizzas, noting that they had the best band name around. I'll admit I didn't get it at first, but listening to their Dictators/Stooges/drunk 'n' Happy Days scuzz, these Pizzas have grown on me. Their songs are rip-offs of every delinquent punk act ever zipped into a leather jacket, but stupid fun is still fun nonetheless. These dudes champion low brow highlights and, Robert tells me, have been known to get a cheese pie delivered during their live sets. You might think you're adverse to Personal and the Pizzas, but one singalong to "I Can Read" (on the band's MySpace page) and you might just want to order up a slice, ya got it?
