Recurring club night? Every Wednesday
Better than: One night stands

If you love dancing in the middle of a sea of gay men (and women!), go go dancers and good music, Booty Call at The Bar in the Castro is a surefire. Be prepared to get drunk and dance your face off.
"We wanted to bring photography, music and the club style that we love to the Castro," said triple threat (promoters, DJs, and hosts) Juanita MORE! and Joshua J. "Everyone brings his or her friends and from there we just explode."
The fabulous Juanita MORE! and her partner Josh have been throwing this party for nearly a year now and they lasso in a huge crowd (especially for a Wednesday night) week after week. Do the math: if you show up with $12 you can get in the door ($2 cover) and have five Svedka shots ($2 a shot), and viola, you're having a good time. And as Tiffany from VH1 sitcom "Rock of Love" would say, "don't threaten me with a good time."
In case you're not looking to get so drunk that you might actually end up being a booty call, the Bar also offers $3 Svedka drinks and $3 Amstel Lights.
After you've been primed with a few shots and get the nerve to dance, attendees can expect to hear music ranging from old school hip hop to disco classics to electro remixes--genres conducive to busting out those vintage dance moves.
"I spin the opening set so I play all my favorite party jams," said Joshua J, who started DJing four years ago.
If you can find your way to the back of the bar through the dark hallway and past the couples making out, a small room is designated for photos with a backdrop that changes weekly courtesy of photographer Brandon Norris. Who doesn't love a good MySpace photo?
The small things count: like the coat check located by the main entrance, which enables you to throw your coat to the side and get to work, or the outside patio-esque smoking room closed off by a door so the venue doesn't reek of smoke.
Booty Call seemed rather popular from where I was standing, so you should probably expect to wait in line for a few minutes (no big deal). Come as you are, it seemed like everyone was about having a good time and not judging who your jeans were designed by.
Critic's Notebook:
Personal Bias: I must say, the Castro is where it's at every now and then and I love a rowdy crowd that lets me take photos.
Random Detail: I didn't see a door on the men's bathroom entrance...maybe it was open?
By the Way: The vibe at Booty Call was described by one drunken denizen as "very magical."
