I can't help it. The foggy fall weather rolls in and all I want to listen to is moody Brit pop -- that sad-happy, angsty stuff that helps our U.K. brothers and sisters get through the long winters. So when Atlanta act Deerhunter put in a recent plug for Hollow Stars, I immediately heard a connection to the Brits in the band's melodic mopes. Although this Atlanta band has a slow, dark burn to its sound, almost like if Ariel Pink went on a Joy Division kick. Bundle up in a sweater, open the windows, and blast "Only Your Love" (available here on the band's MySpace page) loud enough for the neighbors to realize Fall is officially upon us. -- Jennifer Maerz
