MP3 of the Day: Blitzen Trapper

Those wacky Northwesterners: They're not only all growing beards and sounding all woodsy, now they have wild animals trapsing through their music to boot. To wit: Blitzen Trapper, Portland's warm 'n' fuzzy popsters. The title track off their new album, "Furr," has lyrics about howling, while eerie bird calls and owl songs flit around harmonica harmonies. It's a great little track, evoking late night campire singalongs both in spirit and in the feathered creature samples in the background. You can rub up against Trapper's "Furr" here (the band swings through S.F. in early December). -- Jennifer Maerz
