The Lowbrow Art Sale: Chet Zar, Joe Ledbetter & Gene Guynn
Chet Zar "Abandoned"
Chet Zar has added a bunch of new prints in his online store. It looks like “Black Magick” and “I Want You” now come in the larger format of 17″x 22″ and limited editions of 100 each. “Abandoned” (shown), “Hooker” and “I am the Owl” are also new prints. Each one is on velvet fine art paper in editions of 50. "Abandoned" is the painting Zar used for his “Ugly American” show catalog, which is still available by the way. Get It Here.
Joe Ledbetter "Yeti Vs. Deathbot"
Joe Ledbetter has a new canvas on giclee print available in his shop. The print is 12" x 12" and features his Yeti and Deathbot characters getting ready to throw down. I love how the Deathbot just has a full beer to battle with. This print is signed and numbered in an edition of 240. Get It Here.
Gene Guynn "Catching Bullets"
Gene is an artist out of San Francisco. He recently had some work shown at the very cool Paper Pushers show at Gallery 1988. All the work in the show is any media on paper. Gene had some paintings, and two Silkscreen prints for said show. This one is 13" x 21" and is limited to only 11.Get It Here.
Danny Roberts "Inhabitants of Hell"
I featured some prints by Danny Roberts earlier in the year. He is currently having a sale, and all of his poster prints are only $20. Each print is 13" x 19" and can either have a black or white border. I chose the print shown, simply because it looks amazing and you can't have too many Joker prints. Get It Here.
Scott Campbell "Crazy 4 Cult 2 Show Poster"
The Crazy 4 Cult Show 2 is coming up this week, and Scott Campbell made one of two very killer posters for the show. This is kind of family tree for Cult Movie icons -- if you look close yo can see characters from movies we love like Pee Wee Herman, Freddy Kruegar and so on. Take a look and see if you recognize them all, or head on over to Gallery 1988's new store, Stuff88, and pick up this poster on the 23rd for only $20. Get It Here.
