Marice Bolen is known by some to as Jack White's ex, and to others as the Von Bondies' ex. But she's paired with a new musical partner these days, making up one half of the band Silverghost. The music she makes in this current Detroit act (with Deleano Acevedo) is fuzzed out pop paired down to the basics and plumped with a little attitude (sample lyric: "You're just not that important.") You can download the haunting track "Whatever Happened to Gentlemen" off the band's MySpace site, where more of the band's warm, analog aesthetic is up for the streaming. The band hits the Knockout for a live show on Monday, Sept. 1. -- Jennifer Maerz
