The Rosewood Thieves may hail from Brooklyn, but their sound is very Bay Area. Listen to their music and you'll hear parallels to the Morning Benders and Kelley Stoltz' Beatles-isms and Vetiver's catchy folk pop (Vetiver's Andy Cabic guested on the Thieves' 2006 EP). The band is hitting the road now in support of its debut full-length, Rise and Shine, which came out in May. They hit San Francisco on September 7, playing the Hemlock. To preview their music, check out "Silver Gun," which shows the act's T. Rex influences (if it wasn't already apparent from the press photo) blended in with the aforementioned styles. -- Jennifer Maerz
