Frida Kahlo Doppelgangers, Shake SF and Lollapalooza: Your Monday Morning Hangover
Whew, what a weekend. We're sunburned from running around Stow Lake on Saturday and chasing SFW food critic Meredith Brody around the Alameda flea market on Sunday. But we're probably not as beat (or burned!) as Mark Austin, who shot all three days of Lollapalooza for us in Chicago.
See his Friday through Sun photos of Cat Power, Kanye West, Gnarls Barkley, Wilco and more over here.

Also: In between sets, Mark challenged front-row paloozians to give him their best rocker face. The result? This.

But back to San Francisco...on Saturday our Edward Paik encountered many a Frida Kahlo wannabe at Galeria de la Raza. Ladies (and a gent or two) recreated that famous unibrow with the help of some eyeliner and did their darndest to look tragic. Read Eddie's notes and flip through the photos.

On Saturday night, Kirsty Evans stood on the packed Great American Music Hall floor to see Japanese trio Boris. "There aren’t many bands that can pull off stoner rock, sludge, drone, psychedelic, noise and ambient all in one show, but Boris is the exception to a lot of rules," she writes. Read the rest of her review here.

Also on Saturday: Mike and Jenny Cash shot "Shake SF" at the Heights Ultra-Lounge. They report that the service was as great as it was on opening night. Oh, and it appeared to be everyone's birthday.

And on Sunday, Eddie Paik caught the Cabaret Showcase Showdown at Martuni’s. -Janine Kahn
