Seattle hip-hop trio the Saturday Knights just released their new record Mingle, one of my top records for 2008. Granted, the disc is a bit uneven in places, but when they nail a track -- as on their radio-DJ upping single "45," (check it out on their MySpace page) they sound totally unstoppable. The group stands out from the pack by mixing in the unexpected, from girl groups and groovy soul jams (the Dap Kings provide some assistance on Mingle) to absurd humor. Our MP3 of the Day today is the Saturday Knights' "Dog Park," one of their numbers that's a little slower on the tempo, but quick on the humor ("it's so off the chain"). -- Jennifer Maerz
